I have an idea!

It’s so devastating what is happening in my country right now. While Australia is used to having fires, this is just terrifying and it’s obvious that climate change is a major contributor to the worsening fire conditions. So many communities, families, animals and homes have been impacted by this and a number of firefighters have lost their lives battling these terrible fires in order to protect us.

I already have donated what I can to the Australian Red Cross Disaster and Recovery Relief Appeal, as well as RSPCA NSW Bushfire Appeal, but while I was driving home from doing the shopping I had an idea. I thought maybe it would be great to have a Australian Bushfire Fandom Auction where writers/artists offer to create fanworks for donations.

So I’m wondering if people would be interested in this? Also, I would love some help organising and putting it together. So please comment below if interested.

Yes, I posted something similar on tumblr yesterday. It would be great if fandom could put something like that together – I know it's been quite effective for Fandom Trumps Hate the past few years. I'm definitely interested in creating for it and/or helping to set things up.

I agree it would be great if fandom got together to raise money for services to help provide support and relief. I’ve not seen anything around so maybe we could discuss setting something up?

Sure. I had a bit of a poke around online yesterday and it looks like it should be relatively easy to run, provided we keep it simple. Do you have Discord? We could discuss the details through there and get some ideas hashed out :)
