Today I watched a few shows which included: Once Upon A Time & The Fall.

Once Upon A Time - 6x01:

After a hiatus OUAT was back with its season 6 opener. I was excited to see Jafar and Aladdin appear at the beginning of the episode as I'm a huge fan of the animation. It was one of my favourites growing up. Sadly, we only got a glimpse of them at the start. But seeing as Jafar was gloating to Aladdin about what happens to saviours in the end when they have saved everyone, very similar to what Hyde was saying to Emma, no doubt we'll be seeing more of Jarfar and Aladdin this season.

The new villain of show, Hyde is truly scary. I am looking forward to seeing what he does next. Rumble has gotten on my last nerves though. Maybe it's because it's season 6 and Rumble has gone between doing the right thing to doing what he thinks is best and well, just plain evil.

At first, I liked the internal battle in Rumble between good and evil, and I liked his relationship with Belle. Now, I'm actually quite fed up with Rumble and I was applauding Belle when she rejected him in this episode. Belle deserves so much better. Rumble has lied and manipulated too much and I hope she doesn't go back to him.

I truly enjoy seeing Regina and Snow White interacting and getting along so well. I was so glad that Regina apologised for being a bad step mother and I like how much Regina and Snow have grown since the first season. It's so great to see.

Emma's tremors and her visions have intrigued me and I'm interested to see where that goes. I enjoyed her scenes with Hook too but wished there was more.

Overall, I enjoyed this episode, but i wouldn't watch it again like straight away if you know what I mean.

The Fall - 3x01:

So finally The Fall returned after airing its second season in 2014, and it felt like a different show. While, there was so much happening in this episode, and I liked seeing the doctors working to save Specktor, it felt like it changed from a crime drama to a medical show. There were some great scenes featuring Stella with Rose, Rose's husband and Anderson (played by Colin Mirgan), but I felt disconnected to it. But I'm looking forward to the next episode to see where things go.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t watch this episode straight after it was available because I knew what happened at the end. I only watched it last night after a few days to prepare myself for it.

I remember @mockingjayne12 on Tumblr saying one day that she hoped that Allie didn’t get pregnant and people thought that wouldn’t happen (basically they thought it was crazy). Now it has (apparently) and I’m not really happy about it.

And I’m not just unhappy about it because I’m a Weller/Jane shipper, but because it seems like really sloppy and lazy writing. This whole plot device is something that has been used many times before. I understand why (sometimes I do and sometimes I don’t. An example: I wasn’t actually too upset when Luke in Gilmore Girls ended up having a daughter he didn’t know about. In fact I liked it - what I was unhappy about was how it was played out with Luke hiding it from Lorelai, and pushing her away.)

I understand that show runners and writers want to create drama and angst for couples because if they got together straight away and everything was happy and dandy that would get boring quickly. I get that, but honestly Weller/Jane have so much angst and drama already, why did they need to add Weller getting someone else pregnant to it? This has been done many times that its just lazy writing at this point. Now, if it turns out that Allie isn’t pregnant and is the mole, or hell maybe Kurt isn’t the father, that would be interesting. It would be interesting because it wouldn’t just be a plot device to stand in the way of Weller/Jane, but actually crucial to the overall plot.

Another thing that really pissed me off was how Weller and Co (not Patterson really, she was more against Nas than Jane) treated Jane in this episode. Now I get that they blame Jane for what happened to Mayfair and they feel betrayed about everything, but I hated how they all ganged up on her. Sure, Weller told them off for not making Jane feel a part of the team, but Jane still overheard what he said about her. Really, I feel more for Jane at this point than Weller. Sure, Jane lied about being Taylor, but that’s only because she was manipulated into thinking she was, not just by Oscar, but by Weller himself. He didn’t tell her that there were inconsistencies with her DNA, and if he did then Jane would have had doubts about being Taylor.

This poor girl has been through so much - being left naked in Times Square covered with tattoos and no memory of who she is, realizing that the tattoos are all about crime/corruption cases, having to be a pawn for some guy she was engaged to, finding out that she was actually the one who made the decision to have her memories erased, finding out she wasn’t who she was told she was and this is just to name a few. God, I just feel that this girl deserves some empathy and compassion and hate that instead she’s being hated and blamed for everything.

My thoughts on Merlin 4x11 and a little rant at the end... )

My thread at the Holiday Love Meme is still open! Comment on mine here! Thanks to the one person who has commented on it so far! You're comment made my day ♥!

I have also opened up the 2011 Arthur & Gwen Christmas Fest over at my comm [livejournal.com profile] m_in_wonderland. I encourage anyone who loves A/G or loved A/G up till 4x09 to join in and have lots of fun! Maybe you don't like what has happened in series 4, but you still loved A/G in the first place for many reasons and why not celebrate that and just for a while forget the stuff you don't like!

This is the first episode of this series that I want to want again and again. I must admit I was scared to watch this one but it was better than I thought it would be.

somewhat coherent review this way.... )
