Life:I'm glad to be on quite a bit of uni holidays, I don't go back till 23rd of July. I'm lucky as the topics I do tend to finish earlier and don't have exams, so technically uni isn't on holidays yet. I'm kind of looking forward to uni next semester, although my topics are Case Management & Quantitative Social Research Methods, the latter one is a tough topic I've heard from other students who have done it. I'm hoping I get a decent tutor because I've heard stories of people who got tutors who weren't good at explaining the content. And if I do I'm not afraid to use my Disability Access Plan in order to help.
I'm excited because one of my best friends (and her three year old) who moved away to the country with her parents, is going to come up and stay with me for the weekend in July. I don't see her much as she lives over an hour away and she's busy with her daughter. I do see her on Facebook but we don't really talk. But we do consider ourselves best friends and we do miss each other. I think the reason I struggle to keep in contact is because she does have a hearing impairment and while I tend to be able to understand her messages, I find it better to talk to her face to face. When she comes over I might suggest we make a plan to face time each other at a regular time, as I know that she now has proper internet.
Creative Projects:I've been making more icons than I did last year, which is great! I do enjoy icon-making. The i-contest community I co-run
perioddrama_ic is also going really well, which makes me incredibly happy! It's slowly growing and getting more participation as time goes on.
Fan fic writing, however, is not going so well. I'm really behind for the ACBB, I've only written over 2,000 words. My muse seems to disappear, or I just find that I don't know how to write what is in my head.
Fandom:My new TV obsessions are Killing Eve (which is a awesome show that everyone should watch. It's so unpredictable and you find yourself liking a paid killer, even though she is a psychopath), Victoria (I'm re-watching the second season again. I just love it!) and The Handmaid's Tale (This show kills me but I just love it).
I've also joined
ljbookbingo in hopes of it helping me to read the books I've had on my shelf for ages. I've managed to cross of a few squares already. If anyone has any book recs, don't hesitate to comment below. I tend to read romances (both contemporary and period), historical fiction, fantasy, but I'm open to anything people think is a great read!
