So the first fandom community is a period drama icon contest community that I co-run/co-mod called perioddrama_ic. I really love running and participating in this contest community because I just love period dramas (from fantasies like Merlin BBC to Jane Austen adaptations such as Sandition) and its great to see other people make icons from ones that they enjoy as well.

The second one would probably be Oh No They Didn't community on LJ because I'm always on there for my daily news and gossip all the time where I can find out stuff from my favourite celebs, TV shows and films.

In your own space, add something to your fandom’s canon.

Honestly, the thing I would add is something that others have already expressed, but I honestly could believe that if Merlin BBC had continued for another season that Gwen would have been pregnant and had Arthur's baby. I've read fanfic where people have continued on and had Gwen have Arthur's baby and I think it totally works as canon. In all honestly though, there were a lot of great storylines that the writers did not explore in season 5, including the fact that after a few years Gwen and Arthur didn't have any children considering that having an heir is like number one on the list of things a Kind and Queen must do to ensure the throne. Not only for that reason, but seeing as Uther went to Nimeuh to ensure that Igraine would have a son due to the pressure, which would have been the same for Arthur and Gwen. Anyway, I'm now going on a tangent here, so I'll just stop there.

Real life this past several weeks has been busy for me. I’ve been preoccupied with uni, placement, mentoring and then dealing with a recurring sinus inflection that I’ve not really been spending much time on social media/fandom (a part from binge watching Killing Eve, Good Omens etc).

Happy Easter 🐣

Wishing everyone a Happy Easter holiday! Mine was spent with a few of my sisters, my two nephews and grandmother. Unfortunately my third sister was too tired to attend as she just got out of hospital after having my niece, Mia last Monday. Though, it was a natural birth my sister stayed longer as she lost a litre of blood and needed a blood transfusion, but she’s fine now. I ended up having a little visit and got to see her again (though she was fast asleep) as we ended up dropping off some food to them. So that was my Easter, I hope everyone had a great Easter too :)

YAY I’m an Aunty again!

OMG my sister had her baby boy this afternoon! I’m an Aunty again! His name is Max which is my dad’s middle name and was his father’s name. He’s 8lb 8 ounces. She was induced but ended up having a c section as baby wasn’t in the right position and struggling a little. But mum and Bub are doing well.

Now my other sister has to give birth to my niece! She’s going to be induced as well over the next few weeks. It’s all so exciting!

Personal Update & Promo!

Well, it's been getting quite busy for me. The last few weeks of my uni holiday were filled with me babysitting my nephew, dealing with allergies which tire me out, and attending two of sister's baby showers (they are due a couple of weeks apart in April). Last week was particularly busy as I was emailed about my placement for this year and had a lot of certificates, clearances and modules I had to provide/submit/do for compliance. Some of them were not required the last time I did placement (like I had to do an online hand hygiene module), but the college my degree is under is now making all degrees/units have the same/similar requirements. It's kind of annoying because some of them (like the Hand Hygiene) are for more clinical degrees, but there's nothing I can do about it. I just have to do it.

Call The Midwife Fans Promo

call_the_midwife_fans is a new community that is dedicated to the BBC TV series Call The Midwife, which was inspired by the memoir by Jennifer Worth. The aim of the community is to provide fans of Call The Midwife a place to discuss the show (and books), participate in episode discussions/re-watches, and share fanworks etc!

Little personal update...

Firstly, I wanted to share that my sister told me today that the other day she told my nephew that she missed him while she was at work all day and he told her that he knows and that he missed me yesterday instead 😂
Also while my dad and my nephew were on the phone while we were on our way home from my other sister’s baby shower(which was on loudspeaker) my sister said hello to him, but he just said hello to me a few times. 💗 I loved it, but also felt bad as my sister was all like what about me. But in all honesty my nephew and I have a close relationship and I love that he loves me.

Also, I didn’t mention (though I’ve not been on DW for a while) that I applied and had an interview for a volunteer disability mentoring job at uni and I got accepted. Ended up doing the training on Monday and now I’m just waiting for the relevant screenings to come through before I’m matched to a student with a disability who has started at uni. I’m nervous but I’m looking forward to the experience as it is something I’m passionate about and I know that I will learn so much.

On the downside my sinuses sadly have been playing up (it’s only been two years post surgery) and while I’m over the sinus inflection, I still feel hay fever and today I’ve started to get bad sinus pain again and I’m sleeping in later and feeling really tired in the mornings (I was like that pre-surgery). Debating whether to contact the ENT about it as he said if I had any issues that I could contact him. Perhaps I’ll see how I go and if it continues ring his office.
